The objective of this course is to give you an introduction to the standard of driving required for the driving test and how to pass it on to your learner.
The session will last approximately 2 hours and will be done in my car.
The structure of the session is as follows:
Introduction.
A chance to find out a bit about you and the person you’re teaching. I’ll go through the objectives of the session and the approach I’ll be taking to achieve them. We’ll also use this time to check your eyesight and driving licence.
Driving Assessment
You’ll take the controls and take me on a drive so that I can get some idea of your driving standard. I’m not after the perfect drive; it’s just a chance to see whether you’ve got any bad habits that you need to be aware of so that you don’t pass them on to your pupil.
Demonstration Drive
I’ll take the controls and take you for a drive; demonstrating the standard of driving that the examiner will be expecting and the manoeuvres that need to be learnt.
Practice
You’re back in the driving seat again, this time to put into practice what I’ve shown you on the demo drive. Again, I’m not looking for perfection, but it’s important that you can demonstrate what you are going to teach.
Teach Me
Now the fun bit! I play the part of the learner and you’ll supervise me. We’ll start off with some simple fault identification and then try teaching a couple of the manoeuvres.
Debrief
A summary of what we’ve covered and a chance to ask any questions.
Phone support
Having completed the course you’ll be eligible for phone support, enabling you to call me with any questions you may have.
